
UPS Air Cargo Implemented a Fuel Price Index (FPI)

As previously announced, UPS Air Cargo implemented a Fuel Price Index (FPI) methodology based on the weekly average price per gallon of Kerosene Type Jet Fuel in the U.S. Gulf Coast spot market. Fule surcharges increase or drease whenever the FPI passes certain thresholds for two consecutive weeks. Increasing jet fuel prices over the past two weeks have caused UPS Air Cargo to increase fuel surcharge (FSC)
In keeping with our tradition of providing our customers with an advanced notification of FSC adjustments, please be advised that effective 16 January 2011 UPS Air Cargo will increase FSC.
The fuel surcharge in effect on 16 January 2011 for Singapore origin freight will be as follows:
This surcharge is applicable to the chargeable weight of each master air waybill, subject to a 100 KGS minimum, and will remain in effect until further notice.We will continue to minitor jet fuel prices closely and make timely adjustments as necessary.

Fuel Surcharge Adjustment Effective 01 Feb 2011

Please kindly take note that we will be revising our fuel surcharge with effect from 01st Feb 2011 as follows: · $0.95/kg for all other sectors ex-SIN to IATA Area 1 & 2 · $0.50/kg for sectors ex-SIN to Area 3 (India, Australia and New Zealand) · $0.45/kg for sectors ex-SIN to Area 3 (HKG, China and others) The applicable fuel surcharge will be levied on the following basis: · To all air waybills uplifted from 01st Feb 2011 onwards · On a chargeable weight basis · And is non-commissionable The fuel surcharge however will not be applicable to shipments · Where full TACT rates are paid · Where minimum rates are applied The fuel surcharge amount should be entered under “Total Other Charges Due Carrier” column in the airway bill together with the fuel surcharge remark, MY being reflected under the “Other Charges” column in the airway bill. We thank you for your understanding, and assure you that we will be reviewing the continued application of the fuel surcharge at an appropriate time.
